Plan GuideSuno Pro vs Premier: Pricing When Downloads Matter More

When you weigh Suno Pro vs Premier, ignore the “songs per month” headline. Suno AI paid plans already let you audition heavily on-platform. From September 3, 2026 the bottleneck is the download limit: 20 a month on Pro, 60 on Premier, and no cap only if a Premier subscriber exports through Suno Studio. Generation is wide. Taking files off the platform is narrow. That column is missing from the pricing grid.
This page does not reprint the quota news, and it does not rank Ableton. Suno.skin stacks the two meters: credits decide how many versions you can try; downloads decide how many keepers you can deliver. Short-form, shop BGM, and stem handoff pick different plans. Two meters: generation credits versus download limits
Suno’s homepage frames paid volume as about 500 songs a month on Pro and 2,000 on Premier, with roughly 10 songs a day on Free. That is the generation side. The download side caps on September 3, 2026: 7 lifetime trial downloads on Free, 20 per month on Pro, 60 on Premier. Re-downloading the same song as MP3, WAV, or stems does not count twice; failed jobs do not count. Listening, rewriting lyrics, and making covers on-platform do not spend download quota.
- Free: about 10 new songs a day; up to 7 lifetime trial downloads, personal use only, no commercial rights
- Pro: about 500 new songs a month; 20 downloads a month, and paid downloads carry commercial rights
- Premier: about 2,000 new songs a month; 60 downloads a month, with commercial rights on paid downloads
- Premier + Suno Studio: official wording says that export path has no download cap
- Neither meter rolls over; extra downloads can be bought after you hit the plan cap
Side by side, Pro’s generation budget is roughly 25 times its download budget. Export every sketch and the 20 slots vanish in week one. How to spend the cap is in our Suno download limits briefing. This page only answers which plan to buy.
Plan features, commercial terms, and quota numbers follow Suno’s official pages and may change with new models.
Open the official pricing pageHow to read Suno pricing: monthly list vs yearly 20% off
Suno pricing often defaults to the annual rate divided by 12, which looks cheaper than a month-to-month charge. Suno states annual billing is about 20% off. The common August 2026 list is about $10 a month for Pro ($8 effective yearly) and about $30 for Premier ($24 effective yearly). Tax, app-store billing, and promos can disagree with that grid—trust the pricing page and your receipt at checkout.
- Check whether Monthly or Yearly is selected before you compare the “Most Popular” number
- Yearly is prepaid for twelve months, not a rolling $8 charge you can leave any month
- Paid plans can buy add-on credits; unused subscription credits do not roll into next month
- Free has no commercial rights; shipping, client delivery, or DSP upload needs a paid download on a paid plan

Suno Pro vs Premier: when you actually pay for Studio
Both paid tiers unlock the advanced models (including suno V5.5), a priority queue, and audio uploads up to 30 minutes. What sits only on Premier is Suno Studio: MIDI on a timeline, advanced stems, 32-bit / 48 kHz multitrack export, and that export is exempt from the September download cap. Feature walkthrough: Suno Studio 2.0 guide.
- Play on-platform, no commercial use, rare exports: Free is enough—stop after the 7 trial downloads
- Short-form or shop work shipping under about 15 locked tracks a month: Pro is usually enough if sketches stay in the library
- Piano roll, Chat-bar effects, 32-bit stems into a DAW: buy Premier; Pro will not grow Studio later
- You regularly ship more than 20 files a month and do not want extra download packs: Premier’s 60 or Studio’s uncapped path fits better
The usual misread is “Premier generates four times as much, so it is the better deal.” For scene music you will not burn 2,000 generations. What you pay extra for is taking files off-platform, and whether you need an uncapped Studio export lane.
Pick a plan by scene: short video, shops, and stem delivery
Treat the plan as a shipping budget, not a credit race. Tighter prompts waste fewer downloads—the same workflow as our seven-element prompt guide.
- Weekly short-form channel: 2–4 locked BGM tracks a week fits Pro’s 20; bulk-exporting drafts is what burns the cap. See the short-video BGM guide
- Café beds, study loops, livestream beds: one keeper lasts; Free or Pro can hold, because loop quality beats the tier
- Ads, brand themes, clients who want stems and WAV masters: start on Premier + Studio so Pro’s 20 slots are not eaten by session files
- Lock the hook on-platform, then spend one download to grab every format and the stems; re-downloading that song does not count twice
Commercial rights follow the paid download, not the generate button
Commercial rights attach to a paid download while you are a paid subscriber, not to “I generated this once.” Trial downloads on Free are personal use only. After you cancel, the library stays and in-app playback still works; new downloads fall back to Free rules. Upgrading Pro to Premier does not reset the 20 downloads you already used that cycle; downgrading does not automatically strip rights from files you already paid to download—but new exports follow the new tier. High-stakes ads and label contracts still need a lawyer where you live. This is not legal advice.
If you already know Pro is enough, the next job is to spend those 20 downloads as a shipping budget—not to re-shop the price table.
Filter a keeper on-platform first, then decide Suno Pro vs Premier by shipping budget—and whether you will pay for Studio.
